Capture, and Protection of Course Content

Purpose and Scope

This policy establishes standards governing the recording, screen sharing, duplication, or distribution of course content for all self-paced and home study continuing education (CE) programs offered by Counsel Connect. The purpose of this policy is to protect the integrity of educational materials, safeguard intellectual property, and ensure compliance with NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) standards.

This policy applies to all participants enrolled in Counsel Connect CE programs, including online, on-demand, and self-paced home study formats.

Ownership of Course Content

All course materials provided by Counsel Connect—including but not limited to video content, written curriculum, slide decks, case examples, assessments, handouts, audio recordings, and proprietary frameworks—are the intellectual property of Counsel Connect and are protected under applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

Enrollment in a CE program grants participants a limited, non-transferable license to access course materials for personal educational use only.

Prohibition on Recording and Screen Capture

Participants are strictly prohibited from:

·       recording course videos or audio in any format,

·       screen recording, screen capturing, or photographing course materials,

·       sharing login credentials or granting access to non-registered individuals,

·       reproducing, distributing, or transmitting course content in whole or in part,

·       posting course materials to websites, social media platforms, file-sharing services, or professional forums.

These prohibitions apply regardless of intent and include both personal and professional use.

Screen Sharing and Third-Party Viewing

Course access is limited to the registered participant. Screen sharing or group viewing of course materials—whether live or recorded—is not permitted unless explicitly authorized in writing by Counsel Connect.

Unauthorized sharing of course content undermines the integrity of the CE program and violates this policy.

Use of Course Materials

Participants may not adapt, modify, repurpose, or present Counsel Connect course materials as their own work, including but not limited to:

·       using content in trainings, workshops, or presentations,

·       incorporating material into clinical supervision, consultation groups, or CE offerings,

·       distributing excerpts for educational or commercial purposes.

Written permission must be obtained from Counsel Connect for any use beyond personal educational learning.

Monitoring and Enforcement

Counsel Connect reserves the right to implement reasonable technological and administrative safeguards to protect course content, including platform-based access controls.

Violation of this policy may result in one or more of the following actions:

·       termination of course access without refund,

·       withholding or revocation of certificates of completion,

·       denial of future enrollment,

·       pursuit of appropriate legal remedies where applicable at the cost of the violator.

Reporting Suspected Violations

Participants who become aware of unauthorized recording or distribution of Counsel Connect course materials are encouraged to report concerns confidentially to:

Acknowledgment and Agreement

By enrolling in a Counsel Connect CE program, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this policy. Compliance with content protection policies is a condition of course participation and certificate issuance.
